The Hanson Beaverettes' volleyball team played the Canistota Hawks on Tuesday, September 17, in Canistota.
The varsity captured a win against the Hawks with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-14. Jazzy Campbell and Ava Doyle dominated the court with eight kills each followed by Kiana Berg with four. Avarie Prien added three kills. Claire Bridge had four aces while Jersey Kampshoff, Campbell, Prien, and Doyle all had two aces each. Lastly, on the offense, Kampshoff recorded a whopping 18 set assists.
Leading the defensive side, Campbell led the team with nine digs while Bridge was right behind with eight. Taryn Holm put up four digs. Grace Arend put up a brick wall tallying five blocks followed by Prien and Doyle with three blocks apiece.
After the win against the Hawks, the Hanson varsity team now has a record of 6-2.
The Hanson junior varsity won their battle with the Hawks with scores of 25-11 and 25-15.
Alivia Bender put down eight kills followed by Taryn Holm with four. Audrina Waldera had 11 set assists. Isabel Kayser put up three aces while Bender had two.
For defense, Bender and Kayser had one block each. Lastly, Jozlynn Tegethoff popped up 13 digs followed by Waldera and Bender with 10 digs each. Holm and Kayser tallied eight digs apiece.
The JV Beaverettes remain undefeated with a 5-0.
The Hanson C team lost their game with set scores of 22-25 and 23-25. No stats were available . Their record is 0-4-1.
The Beaverettes will compete in the Bridgewater-Emery Tournament in Emery on Saturday, September 21.
